❄️ The AMS Life: Ophélie’s Day on the Mountain
This is Ophélie’s first season at Mt Buller and her debut working in a ski resort — and she’s diving into it with full French flair. “My season started with pre-season inventory and deep cleaning,” she says (yes, that includes scrubbing ovens — merci!). Now, she’s on a roll keeping accommodations sparkling and guest ready. And what keeps her going? “Client satisfaction,” she beams. “When someone sees the before and after and thanks me? That’s the best part of my day.” As for the weirdest moment on the job? “Nothing yet — but the season’s young,” she laughs. “I’m sure the mountain has surprises in store!”
🇫🇷 From France to Frost
Originally from Nancy, raised in the suburbs of Paris, and most recently living near Avignon, Ophélie came to Mt Buller chasing a classic Aussie winter — snow, stars, and all.
Why Mt Buller? “I wanted to experience real snow in Australia. This place was the perfect choice.” Outside of work, she’s a lover of photography, cooking, hiking, music, skiing, and good wine — très chic. And if you think housekeeping’s her only talent, think again…
Fun fact alert: Last summer in France, Ophélie starred in a campground musical as Iago the parrot from Aladdin. “Yes, I danced around stage in a giant red bird costume as Jafar’s sidekick. Absolutely unforgettable — and very funny!”
🌄 Magic Moments at Mt Buller
Ophélie’s still exploring the mountain, but so far, nothing beats the sunsets and starry skies. “They’re magical,” she says. “And the village at night? Everyone sledding in the streets under fresh snow — it was like something from a movie.”
She even celebrated her first-ever winter birthday here on June 1st. Picture this: a barbecue under the stars, shooting stars overhead, and a winery lunch the next day. “It was truly unforgettable.”
