Over the next three days, Mt Buller is forecast to receive a whopping 20 to 60 centimetres of fresh snow. That’s not just a dusting — that’s enough powder to kick off the season properly. Whether you’re chasing first tracks, après vibes, or just the thrill of snowball fights and toboggan runs, this is the weekend to head for the hills.
Here’s what to expect:
Snow, and plenty of it – Fresh falls mean soft turns and magical mountain views.
Lifts spinning & runs ready – Patrol and mountain teams are working hard to get terrain open, and with the snow piling up, expect more lifts to come online fast.
Après is back – Warm up fireside with mulled wine, live music, and that unmistakable mountain buzz you’ve been missing.
Winter Instagram dreams – Think snow-dusted trees, fairy lights, and big smiles under beanies.
Whether you’re a seasoned pro or new to the snow, this opening weekend is shaping up to be one for the books. Accommodation is filling fast, gear hire shops are ready, and Mt Buller is rolling out the white carpet.
At AMS Mt Buller its our favourite time of the year and we are so excited! We can’t wait for coffee at Little Villager, delicious cookies from Woody’s and drinks at Alpine Retreat after a hard day sliding.
